At the end of a hotly contested 2018/19 season, the DS E-TENSE FE19 has enabled Jean-Éric Vergne and the DS TECHEETAH team to win both Formula E titles.

After making its competition debut in November 2018, the 100% electric, new-generation single seater highlights how competitive DS Automobiles’ E-TENSE technology is.

Jean-Éric Vergne becomes the first driver to win two Formula E titles.

E-TENSE technologies are already available on DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE and DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4, available to order.

This season, Formula E has undergone its first revolution. With new-generation single seaters that are faster and more efficient, Formula E has delivered plenty of firsts. DS Automobiles, the only French manufacturer in the championship, has begun a successful partnership with the Chinese team TECHEETAH, and DS Performance has developed a new 100% electric single seater, the DS E-TENSE FE19.

In 13 E-Prix, the DS E-TENSE FE19 has been on the podium seven times with three victories in some of the most important E-Prix of the season in China, Monaco and Switzerland, before lifting the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in New York. A month ago, Jean-Éric Vergne took the voestalpine Trophy for best performing driver in the European rounds. DS brand is also the only car company to have won at least one E-Prix in every season since Formula E was open to manufacturers.

DS TECHEETAH and Jean-Éric Vergne finished the season with the greatest number of wins and podiums among teams and drivers respectively. In the final classification, the DS E-TENSE FE19 finished ahead of the Audi e-tron FE05, BMW iFE.18, Jaguar I-TYPE 3 and Nissan IM01.

Designed to comply with the Formula E technical regulations, the DS E-TENSE FE19 has a powertrain developed by DS Performance. The 250kW motor is paired with a 52kWh battery. The strength of the French technology is being as efficient under acceleration as it is effective during deceleration, with class-leading energy recovery.

The Formula E expertise has already been shared with DS electrified road cars. With DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE and DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4, DS brand is the first manufacturer to offer a 100% electric premium B-SUV and a 300 horsepower, four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid C SUV Premium that can do 58 kilometres in zero emissions mode and only consumes 1.4 litre/100km (according to WLTP homologation). And from 2025, all new DS models will be only electrified.
